Impacto de la infraestructura de transportes en el desarrollo regional del Perú durante el periodo 2010-2019

Abstract

The objective of this work is to analyze the level of impact that investment in transportation infrastructure has on the development of the territories, studied at the departmental level. In this regard, it is observed that despite having increased investment in transportation infrastructure between 2010 and 2019, heterogeneities at the level of development in the departments have still persisted; This is evidenced in the lagging level of coverage of the paved neighborhood and departmental road network, these roads being the ones closest to the productive activities of citizens. This research demonstrates that investment in land transportation infrastructure has significant impacts on territorial economic development, particularly the infrastructure of the national and departmental road network, with the results being consistent with the production level of the regions; on the other hand, rurality and the financial resources derived from the canon are also found as determining factors of territorial economic development.
