| dc.description.abstract | The belt Andahuaylas - Yauri, is located south east of Peru and extends approximately 300 km NW-SE, between the towns of Andahuaylas to the NW and Yauri to the SE respectivily, the belt covers an area of approximately 25,000 km2 and is primarily known for its mainly, mineralization of copper, molybdenum and gold in porphyry and skarn deposits. This belt was originally known for its skarn Fe-Cu mineralization, in recent times there have been important discoveries that place as an important metallogenic belt for porphyry deposits. The geology of belt is represented by Andahuaylas - Yauri batholith, which is composed of a series of complex mainly calc alkaline intrusive composition emplaced within carbonaceous and clastic sedimentary sequences of Jurassic to Cretaceous age. The belt is defined by 31 systems with porphyry alteration and mineralization style, including 19 grouped into 5 main clusters plus 12 separate systems centers, porphyritic stocks are dominated by calc alkaline intrusive with biotite and amphibole content of granodioritic composition. However monzogranítics stocks, monzonitic, quartz monzonitic and monzodioríticos occur locally (Perello, 2003). The term mineral prospectivity or favorability can be seen as synonymous, and refer to the likelihood of specific types of mineral deposits searched can be found in an area of particular interest (Carranza, 2009). The development of mathematical modeling techniques supported by geographic information systems (GIS) has allowed predictive maps become more objective and less subjective. The Weight of Evidence (WofE) is a method of quantitative multicriteria decision making for the correlation of evidence based on a hypothesis, the evidence consists of a set of maps with data exploration and hypothesis is "the favorable for the presence of a type of X " at the end a map of mineral potential is produced in which the evidence of several map layers occurs combined deposit location. | en |
