Resumen

The objective of this professional sufficiency project is to analyze the impact of implementing a Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) system on the validation of composite samples within an INFILL project, and how this implementation influences the reliability of the resulting geological model. The applied methodology included the analysis of geochemical data obtained from duplicates, standards, and blanks inserted in composite sample batches, both in the primary and secondary laboratories, as well as interlaboratory tests and validations using the Reduced Major Axis (RMA) regression method. The results demonstrated that the primary laboratory achieved high levels of precision, accuracy, and contamination control, leading to consistent and reliable results. Likewise, the secondary laboratory showed equally solid performance, with analytical biases within acceptable ranges, no significant contamination, and good repeatability of results. Additionally, interlaboratory analyses for MgO revealed that the secondary laboratory achieved the best accuracy among the laboratories evaluated. Furthermore, graphical evaluations such as CuT vs CuSum, CuT vs Weighted Cu, and CuT vs Cu ICP confirmed that the primary laboratory's analytical procedures were properly executed, resulting in effective copper recovery and consistent geochemical results. In conclusion, the implementation of the QA/QC system not only established rigorous control over sampling, preparation, analysis, and validation processes, but also had a direct and positive impact on the reliability of the INFILL project’s geological model.
