Implementación de programa QA/QC en muestreo de sondajes diamantinos del proyecto Rondoni, Ambo, Huánuco - Perú

Abstract

Rondoní is an exploration project located in Cayna district, Ambo - Huanuco is a typical contact metasomatic deposit. The skarn halo is associated with an intrusive quartz-tonalite in Pucara Group limestone’s, with economic mineralization of chalcopyrite with magnetite and pyrrhotite Based on the results of surface sampling and geophysical interpretations, diamond drilling programs were developed since 2008 to 2011, performing 98.307 meters drilling in 532 drill holes. All Samples of drilling campaigns were gradually sent to the ALS Chemex laboratory in Lima and analyzed by the ICP method. Because the sampling campaign did not have enough support to be validated according to the requirements of a study at the pre-feasibility level, it was decided to perform a re-assays from rejections stored in the project. All rejections amount approximately 25,000 samples; these were transported to the Inspectorate laboratory facilities in Lima, chosen re-assay by the ICP method. QA/QC program was implemented and established procedures in order to guarantee proper handling of rejects, taking care at all times integrity, handling and identification. After reanalyzing rejections control samples were included to evaluate the results, which are twins, coarse duplicates, pulp duplicates, coarse blanks, pulp blanks and standard reference materials. According to the progress of the evaluation, the results constantly performed using charts and graphs QA / QC, obtaining a strong tendency to the reproducibility of results. So the decision to end when approximately 9200 re-assays analyzed (37% of total), assuming validated the initial sampling. Subsequently, this implementation QA / QC was applied to start sampling the work in a new area, Acejar, near Rondoní, obtaining satisfactory results. It is concluded that the implementation of a QA / QC program from the beginning of a project is essential to ensure the reliability of the results. This implementation can be used as a basis for any other polymetallic deposit similarly, always considering the geological characteristics. Furthermore, the use of control charts and the immediate registration of laboratory results in the database, it is essential to detect errors. Maintain supervision is recommended at all stages of sampling, in addition to all staff aware of the importance of the QA / QC program.
