Resumen

Carbonate reservoirs are of great importance, estimates show that more than 60% of the world´s oil and 40% of its gas reserves are held in them (Wenzhi, et al., 2014). Copacabana group is located in Peru, which is mainly made up of carbonate rocks of marine origin, has an average thickness of 700 m and within it we find accumulations of hydrocarbons generating good expectations to study its potential. The research work focuses on integrating and evaluating the seismic interpretation, sedimentological, stratigraphic and petrophysical characteristics of the matrix and natural fractures of the Copacabana reservoir, in order to make a 3D geological modelling of double porosity, which allows evaluating the hydrocarbon potential in the Camisea fields and identify new opportunities to development in unconventional reservoirs in the Ucayali and Madre de Dios basins. To characterize the reservoir, the data available are 3D seismic interpretation and wells information as electrical logs, image logs, crown studies and petrophysical evaluation. Then 3D geocellular model is built, that mainly contains sedimentary facies model, porosity model and water saturation model, it corresponds to the matrix of the Copacabana reservoirs, also the 3D model has porosity and permeability model of natural fractures. Finally, a volume of hydrocarbon in place is calculated to determine the potential of the reservoir.
