Prospección y exploración en el yacimiento epitermal de alta sulfuración de Au Huamanloma, Lucanas - Ayacucho, Perú

Abstract

The Huamanloma deposit is located in the western área of the Apumayo district, in the Chaviña district, Lucanas province, department of Ayacucho, 480 km southeastern Lima. The lithology consists of a andesitic flow sequence with structural weakness open-spaces filled by hydrothermal breccias, the breccia fragments consist of opaline silica, vuggy quartz, granular quartz, and quartz alunite, in a milled fine-rock matrix containi iron oxide and brownish silica. The surface geochemistry shows anomalous values of Au, As, Sb, Bi, Cu, Mo, Pb, y Zn in the Andesite and Hydrothermal Breccias contact, and Cu and Mo anomalous values in the southern Huamanloma associated with the possible presence of an intrusive body responsible for the mineralizing fluids at Huamanloma. The structures have NW-SE, and E-W trending mainly, the breccia process produces the structural framework to favor the mineralization in the andesite contact. The resistivity and chargeability responses define the hydrothermal breccias conduit. Gold mineralization is related to at least three mineralizing events: disseminated and veinlets sulfides with further oxidation; gray silica-fine grain pyrite replacing the matrix and as a veinlets; and brownish silica replacing the breccia matrix, andesite fragments, and as a veinlets. The correlation coeficients are low and are not robusts with the Deposits mineral resources. The percentile analysis could help to discriminate potential Au Prospects from those without Au potencial.
