Resumen
The main objective of this research is to explore groundwater for the use of the community in Daniel Hernández District, located in Tayacaja, province of Huancavelica department. For this purpose, drilling points will be proposed using geological and geostatistical criteria. In Peru, many Andean communities are isolated from basic services such as potable water and electricity. They have water in the rainy season and lack of water in the dry season. Consequently, the hypothesis proposed: The rains have stored water in the subsoil, in the aquifers. As a regional geological view, Quadrangle 25-n (Pampas Leaf) prepared by INGEMMET was taken as a reference. Structural geology was used as support of the model, linking geological aspects such as petrography, sedimentology, geomorphology, and geotectonic; in order to develop a model that allows to understand the geological features of the subsoil. An important part of the study has been the development of the aquifer model. The first and main information was the Daniel Hernández's topographic plan (USGS Topographic Maps) where the z value in the contour lines will be considered as a random variable. This allows us a simulation, with some limitations, the underground topography. Subsequently, the aquifer modeling was built with the geological criteria of the area. Finally, the optimal perforation point was defined and the tests to be performed was recommended. In addition, the design of a pump house for water distribution is considered, with the most relevant details for a water-supply project, in order to satisfy the demand of the community with the natural resource.
