Resumen

The study area is located in the Quadrangle Chalhuanca (29 -p), Department of Apurimac, on the eastern flank of the Western Cordillera of the Andes, between 3,000 and 5,000 m altitude. Presents upland areas, ranges of hills and deep valleys. Major rivers like Antabamba Chalhuanca and are controlled by regional faults. The stratigraphic sequence is composed of more than 8,000 m of sedimentary and volcanic rocks that were deposited between the Upper Jurassic and Quaternary. For the present study we have taken data from 120 sediment sampling conducted by the INGEMMET runoff in 1995 in the Quad Chalhuanca (29 -p), in its Regional Geochemistry Survey program conducted at the No. 2 slot. For each of the samples were made 33 multielement analysis. For the sampling of sediment runoff interest was considered prospectables areas, stream sediment sampling from lithologic units intrusive, volcanic, sedimentary and metamorphic nature as well as in sectors affected by structural and tectonic events and discriminate areas mining, known mineral occurrences or prospects. With the results, a statistical analysis was performed to determine geochemical associations and determine probable prospective zones.
