QA/QC del muestreo de sondajes diamantinos de la campaña 2012 - proyecto Palma

Abstract

This report discusses the quality assurance and quality control (QA / QC) sampling of 2012 diamond drilling campaign belonging to Palma Project, of the Empresa Administradora Chungar S.A.C. subsidiary of Volcan Compañía Minera S.A.A., located in the Antioquia district, Huarochirí province, department of Lima. The main objective is to ensure the representativeness of each deposit sample. This work protocols for a representative and adequate core sampling avoiding any contamination of samples, as well as the appropriate sending them to the laboratory ALS Chemex, insertion of control samples was followed to monitor laboratory work in their different stages such as crushing, spraying and analysis. To keep track of the results of the laboratory was considered a total of 40 samples, 10 samples of control, including a pulp duplicate, a coarse duplicate, a twin sample, three standards, a coarse blank, a pulp blank and two check samples. In total 9647 samples, of which 2412 were control samples representing 25% of all samples, these samples distributed in 242 batches were sent. To achieve optimum sampling, cut lines marked in the core, these lines were determined by geologists in charge of sampling, samples were taken with nitrile gloves which were washed with water after each sample to avoid contamination between sample and sample, each sample was bagged, labeled and placed in the sack taking the utmost care in their coding and to avoid errors in the database. Coarse and pulp duplicates were generated in the laboratory to our order which served to control a suitable process of crushing and powder samples in the laboratory. The twins were sampled in the project; these were used to check that the sampling is representative. The standard samples were imported laboratory Oreas (Australia), three samples were selected from different grades (low, medium and high grade) and we have the low standard, medium standard and high standard. The coarse and pulp blanks were prepared by SGS laboratory; these samples were used to assess the contamination degree in laboratory during crushing and analysis respectively. To complement the results of sampling a chapter on basic statistics for the elements Ag, Pb and Zn was included. Validation of the exploratory data analysis was performed by populations then.

Thanks to the implemented procedure and proper care was achieved acceptable precision and accuracy in the results and free of contamination. The correlations of the elements are not very good, has a positive linear correlation. It is recommended to improve the storage of witnesses, it is recommended to improve the supervision of court witness. It is suggested to train all personnel involved in QA / QC.
