Resumen
Campana AC Prospect is located in the District of Laredo, province of Trujillo, La Libertad region in northern Peru. It is at the eastern edge of the Coastal Batholith. The principal lithologies in the prospect are intrusive rocks (Coastal Batholith) with from granitic to dioritic composition, weakly to moderated alteration as clay – sericite halo related to veins, epidote veinlets and chlorite altered mafic minerals.
The veins have been defined into two vein systems: The first one is hematite – magnetite – quartz vein system trends N50E, it has Cu – Mo anomalies (Bi as a pathfinder) and the second is quartz – hematite – magnetite vein system trends N23-10E, it has Au – Ag – Pb anomalies. The mineragraphic research of surface samples shows in both vein systems there are hipogene sulfides (pyrite - chalcopyrite - sphalerite) as traces.
These systems show geochemical differences by performing Ga, Zr, Nb and Na ratios and the N50E system has higher content of Ga, Zn and Nb.
Both vein systems have groups of fluid inclusion with temperatures between 300 ° C and 450 ° C with salinities higher than 10%eq. weight of NaCl, which evidenced, the mesothermal origin of the veins, It could be related to deeper intrusive (Salinities > 20% eq. wt NaCl).
The geological, lithological, mineralogical and geochemical settings indicate that the mineralization is mesothermal veins type.
