Resumen
The present work corresponds to the study of the structural control of the Cobriza Cerro Pumagayoc distal metasomatic deposit located in the Copacabana limestone, located to the south east of the city of Lima, San Pedro de Coris district, Churcampa Province, Huancavelica region.
The mining unit has a daily production of 9,100 TM with average grades of 0.98% Cu and
21 gr/TM Ag; it has polluting minerals such as arsenic, bismuth and antimony.
The objective of this research work is to establish what are the structural and genetic controls of formation for the deposit; For this, a study of all the work carried out in the extreme south of Pumagayoc was carried out, in order to execute a geological correlation of all the relevant structures of the deposit.
The 2013-2014 diamond drilling campaign aimed to determine the continuity of mineralization at the southern end of Pumagayoc, taking into account the fault at the southern end of Pumagayoc (unnamed) N45°E, 20°NW as structural and genetic control of the deposit in the mentioned sector, which demonstrates the end of mineralization.
The result of this geological evaluation achieved a successful design for the development and preparation of the copper mine in the extreme south of Pumagayoc.
